Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions. Please contact us if you require any further assistance.
- What is Website4mypet?
Website4mypet is a simple and easy to use website to give your pet a virtual home on the internet. It is designed to be easy to use by children and adults alike without technical knowledge (though we recommend that an adult supervises the purchase of the site). You can keep a blog, create a photo gallery and add other friends to your site. You can change the look and feel of your site at any time from a growing collection of site designs.
- Is it safe for children to use?
Yes. It is very easy and fun to use and perfectly safe. None of your or your child's details will be passed to anyone else and nobody can contact your child directly through their website. We have also build into the website editor tool a modesty filter to ensure that any unacceptable text entered on the site is removed.
- What are gift vouchers?
Our gift vouchers are great for birthdays, Christmas or any gift giving day! A gift voucher can be created for either a 6 months or 12 months package and given to anyone you so wish. You print out your gift voucher. To see an example of what our gift vouchers look like, click here.
- How do I create an account?
Just select Buy Now or Buy Gift Voucher from the right-hand menu. You will be presented with a screen to create your new account with us.
- How do I redeem my gift voucher?
Click on Redeem voucher from the right-hand menu. If you already have an account with us, login using the option at the top of the screen. If you are a new user, then create your account. You will then be taken to a page to redeem your voucher. Enter your 8 digit codeand the date of purchase from the gift voucher given to you. Click Go to confirm the voucher and to start building your site.
- I can't redeem my gift voucher?
This could be due to a number of things. Ensure you have typed in the voucher code exactly as it is shown on the gift voucher. Also ensure you have entered the correct date of purchase. If you are being redirected to the home page or an error is appearing then please contact us with the voucher code so we can assist you.
- I have a great idea for a new template or feature, can I suggest them to you?
Of course you can! The more ideas the better. Just send us a message using the contact us page and we will be more than pleased to review your suggestions. You might even see them appear on the site.
- I have an issue with payment / site creation / renewing my site...
If you have been incorrectly charged, or an error has stopped you from creating or renewing your website then don't worry. Please go to the contact us page and select the appropriate subject that relates to your issue. We will promptly answer your query.
- How do I renew my site?
When your site is due for renewal (This is 30 days from your issued renewal date), your member's home page will display a red link Renew Now. Don't worry, you will also be sent reminders once a week to tell you your site is about to expire so you will have plenty of warning.
To renew your site just click this link, select either a 6 months (presently £5 ) or 12 months renew package (presently £9 ) and click to pay to continue with your pet's website. *
- What if I don't want to keep my site?
Then you don't have to do anything! When your site reaches the expiry date, your site will be automatically removed. Remember though, when your site is removed it can't be retrieved back again (it is permanently deleted).
- Are PayPal Payments Safe?
PayPal is a safe and secure way to pay to use the facilities on website4mypet. PayPal guards against fraud and keeps your credit card completely secure.
- What if I don't have a PayPal account?
Not a problem! You can also just pay using your credit/debit card using PayPal. Just look out for the link to choose to pay on your credit card.
- Why do I have to create 2 logins, one for my account and one for my website?
Website4mypet is setup so you can host multiple pet sites under your main Control Account; so this has its own login.
Each site then has its own Website Editing login so if you want your partner, children or friend can maintain a site you have purchased without logging in to view your personal details. Also, has you are the owner of the websites, you are in control of which sites you wish to renew, change the Website Editing password or purchase additional sites.
- I have forgotten the Website Editing password for my pet's site?
Don't worry, this can be easily changed. Log into your main control account and click Change Password against the site name. You can then reset the password for that site.
- I have forgotten the main Control account password?
Just go to the the forgotten password page and enter your username and email address. We will email you your password so you can log back in.
- Where do I go to re-print my gift voucher?
Just log into your account on the home page of website4mypet. When your member options appear, select “View Order History” from the right-hand menu. Select the order you purchased for the gift voucher. This will refresh the page and show you the details with a link to re-print out your voucher. If the voucher was redeemed then you will be informed accordingly.
- I have paid for a site but I don’t want to complete it now. Can I create it another time?
Yes you can! Log into your account on the home page of website4mypet. When your member options appear, select “View Order History” from the right-hand menu. Select the order you have purchased to create a site. This will refresh the page and show you the details of the order with a link to start the creation of your pet’s website.
- I don't know how to resize my images for my site?
Not a problem! If you are on a PC you can download our Image Resizer software to help you. Click here to view our download software page for more information
- What web browser can I use with the site?
The site is compatible with all the latest web browsers including Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3 and Firefox 3. We do recommend you upgrade your browser to get the added benefits they provide including security and new functionality. If you are running Internet Explorer 6 or less be aware that you will not be able see our templates in their true glory!
- Are there any restrictions or limits in what can be done on my site?
To ensure it is fair for all users on this service, we have put some restrictions on what can be done on the site. These are as follows:
- No more than 12 images at any one time in the gallery (you can change and remove them at any point)
- Image file sizes no larger than 500kb each
- No more than 10 blog entries at any one time
- Is the friend messaging safe?
We use a unique style messaging system on the the website to ensure that your children are safe at all times. The messages that can be sent to others are from a pre-populated select list and messages can only be sent to people who have links on each others site using the "Add A Friend" functionality.
- I can't see an answer to my problem...
